  • Evaluating your competitors (including their SEO optimization strategy)
  • Brand protection

Please review the FAQ document below for more details on what s included in YouTube in Intelligence. You can sign up for a 1-on-1 coaching session to learn how to maximize this new network in Intelligence.

What can I search on YouTube? You can search by keywords or by specific channels.

What comes back in the search results for a keyword search? We will return any content that matches the video title, the video description or the video tags for  the keyword(s) searched. These results are broken out by the usual sections (Summary, Activity, Content, Channels, which takes the place of the People tab, and Voice)

You can choose to search only the title, only the video description or only the tags.

What are Tags?  Tags refer to the metadata that YouTube channels attach to each video that is uploaded to the platform. These are essential for SEO optimization and are not visible natively. We believe this is incredibly valuable data that will help you understand how content in your industry or by your competitors is being labeled for discovery.

Where in the product can I see tags? We show tags in a few places in YouTube Intelligence. One main location is in the activity tab, where we show Top Tags. These are the most frequent tags on videos posted in the selected timeframe.

In the content tab, we feature tags in the bottom right of the individual video metrics. If you hover over tags you will see all metadata associated with that video.

Can you analyze comments on an individual piece of content?

Yes! We are very excited about this feature and believe it will be very valuable. On individual videos you can open up a modal to view the video and to review comments.

In this window you can search within the top level comments (We do not search replies specifically, although if the keyword is in a reply we will highlight it) and you can view sentiment and top terms. If you search within the comments the sentiment analysis will update to reflect the sentiment on the matching comments for your keyword.

We also allow you to filter top level comments by sentiment category. The sentiment classifications we show should be considered directional, helping you gauge the tenor of comments instead of giving you a rigid classification of each comment. Sentiment models are unable to classify irony, sarcasm or satire with 100% accuracy . We always recommend a manual review of content filtered by sentiment to ensure a more complete analysis.

Are notifications available for YouTube? Yes, notifications are available for YouTube. You will need to save your topic and then can turn on notifications. You have the option to set thresholds like # of videos posted in the last hour or you can choose ASAP to be notified as content is posted.

Can you search for trending videos? Yes, we have a trends page that allows you to select a country and then view trending videos for that country.

Is there a historical archive of YouTube content that I can search?

Since YouTube is a new channel for us, we are still building our database of videos. We rely on your searches to tell us which videos to start pulling in. So please start searching!  if there are no results for your search initially, check back in 24-48 hours we will be adding results for your search to our database in the meantime. The more you use YouTube for Intelligence, the better it will get

Are there any recommended best practices for searching in YouTube Intelligence? We encourage you to leverage Search Builder as a way to find the most relevant content. It s easy to use and helps create accurate searches. Because we match title, tags and descriptions it s likely that you ll want to start your search only looking for one type of match.
