What is this?

Customers now have the ability to schedule the deletion of native posts from within Khoros. Check out our documentation to delete native posts to find more information about which posts can be deleted automatically.

When would I use this?

This feature is helpful when you know you will need to delete a post from the network at a future date.

This sounds great! Where can I find it?

You can schedule the deletion of a post at the time of creation, after the post is scheduled for publishing, and after the post has been published.

Schedule to Delete Upon Creation

When you’re creating your post, under the Basics tab, you’ll see a new section called Schedule Deletion.

Click in the calendar box to open the calendar function.

Select a date and time that is at least 24 hours into the future.

Once a date has been selected, click Schedule.

Schedule Deletion from the Side Panel

In the overflow menu, you will find a new option that says “Schedule Deletion from Native Channel”. Click it to select a schedule date.

Click in the calendar box to open the calendar function. Click Schedule Deletion to complete the action.

You will see the updated status of Deletion Scheduled in the Side Panel.

Edit or Remove the Scheduled Deletion Date

If you need to edit or remove a scheduled deletion date, choose the appropriate option in the overflow menu in the Side Panel.

If you choose to edit the deletion date, you will be asked to choose a new one from the modal.

If you choose to remove the scheduled deletion date, you will be asked to confirm the action.

Thanks hamishlane . This was a product decision based on the usage. Usually customers retain their posts for at least a day, hence this restriction is added.

  • Thanks VivekGr . Our Khoros Marketing users would be interested in shorter windows than 24 hours. For example: scheduling a deletion of a post for close of business or other time critical periods (rather than 24 hours). Is this possible?

  • Just adding to Hamish’s response, we’re a news publisher and we have ongoing challenges related to legal risk if posts are unmoderated. Having a drop down menu with options for deletion time would resolve most of these issues by allowing us to automatically schedule deletion of content when moderator resource was no longer available.

  • Are the results/analytics from the post still preserved in Khoros even after it has been deleted?

  • This is a very helpful feature! Is there a reason why scheduled deletion of posts isn't available within 24 hours of publish date?

Thanks, hamishlane and scott_gamble  for the suggestion. We have added the enhancement to our roadmap and get back to you once it is completed.

NickyTexeira -  When deleting the native post using Khoros, you will still see a card in the calendar for the post (displaying the deleted status). We will also show any metrics in analytics that were captured up to the time of the deletion. Feel free to check out this article if you want to review this functionality in more depth!
