Next week, we will be rolling out two changes to our login and multi-factor authentication process. The first change is a reordering of the steps in the login process, and the second change is the ability for users to opt in to SMS-based multi-factor authentication instead of the email-based system that is currently in place. Here are the changes you can expect:

Change to the login flow

Currently the login process involves entering your credentials in the following order:

  1. Login email
  2. Verification code
  3. Password

The order of this flow is going to change to:

  1. Login email
  2. Password
  3. Verification code

Note: This change will take affect for all users, regardless of whether they opt in to SMS-based authentication or not.

Opt in to SMS verification

When you go to your user profile, you will see a new "Security" section. This is where you can opt in to and configure the ability to receive the multi-factor authentication verification codes via SMS instead of through email. While switching over to SMS verification is optional, we strongly encourage users to take advantage of this to both increase account security and for the convenience it brings.

Authenticator apps

We are also excited to let you know that soon after releasing this SMS capability, we will also be adding functionality to use the Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator apps to log in to Khoros Marketing. We'll announce more details about that next week.
