On December 18th, Spredfast will no longer be able to support the editing of link previews for any link shared to Facebook. Instead, we ll be moving to Facebook s new solution for link ownership and preview editing: domain verification.

Domain verification is a way for Facebook pages to claim domains as their own. This feature lives in Business Manager and it will walk users through the domain verification process.  Once the domain has been verified by Facebook, we will be able to support the editing of link previews for links from that domain. For more details on claiming your domain, check out Facebook s help article on setting this up.

In Spredfast, when you enter a link in your Facebook post, we ll check with Facebook to see if you own the domain of the URL. If we can verify that, we ll let you edit the page metadata in the link preview. If we aren t able to verify ownership with Facebook, your link preview will publish as it is displayed in the publishing window, and you won t be able to edit it. For more details on how this works in Spredfast, check out our help doc on this update.

This change will be rolling out on December 18th, so we d recommend getting with your IT teams to start this process If you regularly rely on link preview editing.
