Hard to post on Lithium Community

I always have to search and search and search everytime I want to post on the Lithium community.

As the platform owner, it would be nicer if you made it easier to find the NEW MESSAGE buttons instead of just having the search available, maybe it's just me... does anyone else find it hard to post?

  • Hey niiiiiiiiiik ,

Unable to speak for anyone else but i have to say i dont have that issue. Posting a new message is simple when you know where to go, if you're looking to post a new message navigate to the desired board and click the "New Message" buttons on the top left of the board, works everytime.

    Hope this helps :P

Thanks for the feedback niiiiiiiiiik ! I would love to hear if other community members are having the same difficulty finding where/how to to post.

As Fellsteruk mentionned, you can navigate to the desired board and post from there, and you can also use the "Ask the Community" located in the footer to write up your question, then select where you wish your message to be posted from the drop down menu.

I think this is the core of Nik's troubles. The Lithium community is quite the maze when it comes to where to find information for something specific. I -always- use the search box as that it's pretty much the only way for me to find the information I'm looking for.

In (my) perfect world scenario, the various boards, strategies, knowledge articles etc etc would belog in each their category regarding the specific product or service from Lithium: (rough idea)

    Category: Forum and Blogs

Boards: Strategy and Best Practises -- Ranking and Gamification -- LSI and other metrics -- Custom tags -- Labels -- (other basic features)

    Ideation: Improve the platform

Knowledge: How to's -- Solutions -- Questions and answers -- Metrics and analytics -- Tags and Labels

    Boards: (all individual products)

    Etc etc etc etc..

    Just my two cents... :)

  • We have been seeing the same feedback ("I don't know where to post a new message, so I've replied to this one...") for quite many topic hijackings as well as new topics (sic!) posted on our Community feedback board as well.

Just recently we therefor added a "New topic" button on the topic page and are currently evaluating the first month using this feature.

You can see both an example of a feedback topic of that nature and the new button here:

    I agree with @Dittie.  It's a maze.

^^^^ and tagging @Dittie didn't work - as is often the case.  Sometiems your tagging name recognition engine wants to work and sometimes it doesn't.  Now it's not working.

wittier it may be that the username in question is Ditte rather than @Dittie.

I wish the 'quick reply' boxes on Lithium communities allowed the same dropdown @ selection as the primary reply window.

kalak the quick reply is meant to be quick (yes, seriously :smileywink:) and therefore elements that would cause high load time (like the mention and the rich text editor) won't be loaded. But feel free to raise an enhancement (product idea) for it.
