Upload of a new avatar doesn't seem to be working for me in the Lithium Community - I get an empty/blank overlay popup when I select the option form my profile settings, but no ability ...
You can try this work around for the time being:
Go to your user profile and click on your uploaded images (on the side bar), from there, you can add an image. After you do that, you can go to the avatar portion of your settings and add your avatar through your own gallery.

Hi Everybody,
I just now created my account. When I clicked into my profile I was looking for the My Pics button on the avatar tab but its actually to the right in the lower corner. Hope that helps somebody else!

Hi everyone, we deployed a fix yesterday for this issue. Let me know if any of you are still having trouble uploading avatars.
