Hi team, I have several users who have posted a question in a QandA section that’s better suited as an idea for the ideas section of our community. Currently there's no option to move or convert a question to an idea short of logging in as the user and reposting.
- Typically this occurs when they are looking for a feature that doesn't exist yet.
- The member will ask where the setting is and our answer is that it doesn't exist yet.
- We'll create an idea for them so that we can gauge interest and make sure it goes on the list of things for us to build.
This process is clunky and won't allow us to scale out the very important work of listening to our customers for much longer. We'd like to avoid moving to another platform that enables this option if possible.
Questions:
- Is there a way to convert a post from a question to an idea? This could include via API if there's not somewhere in the UI that I can enable this.
- If not, when will this feature be on the roadmap?

On Classic we often move posts from a forum to the idea board because what the member is asking for help with is not supported yet. We can tell them to repost it as an Idea, but some customers get offended by that and we try to be more customer centric than that.
Also, not being able to merge discussions will become frustrating. When there's an issue happen members often create new posts when there is one that exists already so we merge them to keep things tidy and so we don't have to post the same reply multiple times
