Dev docs - search doesn't work right

Dev docs - search doesn't work right

This has been happening forever, so I figure I'll finally say something

When you open the dev site, and go to search, "community" is never an option.  It only becomes an option if you drill down to the community sub section, then click search, and now it appears as a filter.

Hello there! This is an interesting behavior. I believe it has something to do with the Community docs being private (available only to members) and Care documentation being public (available to everyone). This may be a limitation of the platform we're using to host our API docs, though I will look into it and see what we can do to improve your experience.

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention!

Hello,

We just noticed this post hadn't received a proper follow up. Terribly sorry for that, however work has been done and improvements have been made!

Last month, we investigated our authentication process and discovered a way to streamline it that prevented issues around authentication loops.

As for search, the portal relies on Atlas authentication to provide access to the Khoros Communities Dev Docs. Since the Marketing and Care portals are publicly accessible, authentication isn't required to access and search those.

So, if you're not seeing Khoros Communities in this search field, it means that the portal isn't seeing a valid authentication with Atlas. You can go back to Atlas and authenticate, or click through to the Khoros Communities docs which will validate access and give you permission to search through that area of the portal.

Basically, all roads lead back to Atlas authentication. As long as you're signed in here, you shouldn't have any issues navigating the Developer Docs.

Hope this helps!
