Anyone have any sort of "getting started" checklist of what needs to be defined when you're first launching a community? Something that can be shared with a web designer who hasn't worked on Khoros before, so they can understand what elements are involved, etc.?

About the Team:
You will be a member of the Corporate Marketing team focused on creating positive buzz and awareness--as well as positive third party content--around JumpCloud and our services, products, and technologies. You will work closely with the events, community, customer marketing, publicity, influencer, and champion teams/individuals to make sure that technical and SME meetups know who we are, what we offer, and how we can help them and their businesses.
What you’ll be doing:
You will create, nurture, and source speakers and content for dedicated JumpCloud meetup groups online AND in cities with high customer concentrations and meetup interest. You will also identify and reach existing meetups for IT admins and SME business owners to discuss content presentations we can give them, as well as sponsorships of their meetups to drive JumpCloud awareness and affinity among those third party groups. You will explore partnerships with large metropolitan and/or statewide/national small business organizations to engage their members with JumpCloud content and experts on IT trends impacting SME/SMB success. You must be a strong partner to other groups to achieve quality execution, particularly with the community and events teams/people.
We’re looking for:
We want someone who is great at making connections and getting people excited about what JumpCloud offers as well as someone adept at lining up a total program for meetups, including pitch topics, setting up unique meetups dedicated to us, and aligning other marketing resources to publicize and execute the meetups program. You should understand what it takes to arrange events and event logistics that create compelling forums that extend and nurture the meetup connections, but you will rely on the events team for events production/execution. You have to research with other teams where we can launch our own meetups and where we can engage existing ones. You have to think about and execute holistic meetup engagement programs that include speaker pitching and fulfillment, swag and/or meal/meeting space and/or promotional sponsorships, meeting and event logistics (executing those via the events team), email and other publicity campaigns to reach potential meetup attendees (executing those with the publicity and digital marketing teams), and the use of our online forums (and community) to reinforce and extend meetup relationships. You have to work closely with other groups to make sure meetup attendees’ feedback is heard and incorporated into other programs (as well as products/techs/services) we deliver, help source speakers for other demand and awareness programs run by others, and uncover potential case study/testimonial participants who attend JumpCloud and independent meetups.
5-8 years of meetup, influencer marketing, and/or field marketing experience.
Expertise at program creation and management.
Strong budgeting and prioritization skills.
Comfort and skill at working in a highly matrixed environment to achieve results.
A metrics mindset and approach that knows the business goals we need to achieve with this program.
A customer-centric approach to meetups that emphasizes the value customers and prospects can get from JumpCloud interactions, knowledge, and use.
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual compensation range for this role is $80,000-95,000 including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. JumpCloud provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, short and long term disability, life insurance and a 401k savings plan. We have an unlimited vacation policy.
Where you’ll be working
All our roles are remote in the U.S. unless otherwise specified. Our Headquarters is in the Denver/Boulder, CO area. Once we reopen our offices you will have the opportunity to remain fully remote (in the U.S.), work from one of our office locations (CO only currently) or flex your time.

I personally would rather see the whole post. Most of the time I hate to click through. This is especially true in a lot of technical communities I’ve been a part of. Would be interesting to have that configurable, but I think you’d want to ask your users before going that route. Like that would really, really bug me.
