The 14.7 Release delivers new features to further engage community members and give them more control over their community experience. Community Mobile v2 now supports blogs, enabling your users to explore content no matter where they are. Members can now easily choose to disable community emails in one, central place instead of disabling all their email subscriptions and notifications individually. Additionally, when real-time notifications are enabled, members will be notified of more key events, which will drive more engagement.

Blogs for Community Mobile v2
As first announced in the Community Mobile v2 Release Notes, Lithium has re-invented its mobile community experience from the ground up. Optimized for new-user engagement, community mobile v2 makes it easy for users to participate on the community wherever they are.
Note: If you are interested in upgrading to Community Mobile v2, contact your account manager. As described in the Community Mobile v2 Release Notes, this functionality is being rolled out on a controlled schedule.
With the 14.7 release, Mobile v2 now supports the blog discussion style.
Blogs for Community Mobile v2 has been optimized for content consumption to enable new users to find the information they want and join the discussion. As such, in Community Mobile v2 blogs:
- Users can’t author new blog articles
- Users must be registered to comment.
- Teaser images are included in the board view and search results with entry title. (The teaser text isn’t displayed.)
Important: At this time, customizations must be done in cooperation with Lithium Professional Services. To discuss customization options and create a statement of work, contact your Account Representative.
Supported languages for Community Mobile v2
Mobile v2 now supports all left-to-right reading languages. Refer to the Community Mobile v2 Release Notes for the current list.
Personal setting to disable all community emails
Members now have the option to disable all emails from the community, including board subscriptions and password-reset notifications.
Note: If members create a new subscription while this setting is enabled, they will not receive any emails for those subscriptions. However, if they re-enable email delivery, these email subscriptions will begin.
To turn off all community emails:
- Sign in to the community.
- Go to the profile menu and click My Settings.
- Click Email.
- Click Don’t send me any community emails.
- Click Save.
New real-time notification events
In the 14.4 Release, we announced the new real-time notification feature. In this release, we have added several new notifications conditions:
- Replies to a message a member started (new to feed and pop-up)
- Replies to a message a member subscribes to (new to feed and pop-up)
- Kudos a member receives (new pop-up)
- New topics in a board a member is subscribed to (new to feed and pop-up)
- @mentions a member receives (new pop-up)
- Reply is marked as an accepted solution (new pop-up)
Learn more about real-time notifications.
Admins can now create Lithium service accounts
When using the Community API, it’s often useful to authenticate using a “service” account with administrator-level permissions. This enables you to access all community data, which is helpful for integrations and content syndication. However, if you also use Single Sign On (SSO), creating a service account means creating a new user in your SSO system, which you might not want to do.
Now, you can create local Lithium users through the Community Admin to use as service accounts.
To create a new user:
- Go to Community Admin > Users > Permissions.
- Click Create Users.
- Enter the username, password, and email address for the new user.
- Click Save.
Users created via this manual method are treated like all other users. Thus, these users:
- Show up in the Users Online component
- Impact user-related metrics (for example, number of registrations) and show up in user-related reports
However, at this time, users created this way do not receive a welcome email.
You Found It. We Fixed It
- When viewing threads by label, the sort ordering for the threads is now retained (most recently replied to thread listed first). Previously, the list was sorted by the date the label was applied.
- The sort ordering for member subscriptions, bookmarks, and floated topics has been improved so that the most recent items are listed first.
- The TinyMCE editor now includes a control to switch to code view in the Blog teaser section. To view the code editor mode, click the source code icon, shown here:
- We have made several performance improvements to Ratings and Reviews API to reduce the number of database lookups when trying to display a single review.
- Previously, if you included the search form in a custom header, the search form did not pick up the appropriate CSS. As a result, the search form displayed incorrectly. This styling issue has been fixed.
- We have fixed the issue where bullets for unordered lists were not displaying in Internet Explorer 11, despite being visible in the preview editor
