Khoros Communities 25.8 - Release Notes

The Khoros Communities 25.8 release includes several important security improvements and bug fixes.

  • [Classic] Fixed a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting embedded YouTube videos on community pages. 
  • [Aurora] Certain specific custom access permissions was blocking user registration, due to attempting to verify permissions before the user was registered. This has been addressed so that permissions are checked in the correct sequence.
  • [Aurora] Fixed an issue where users were unable to join Zoom meetings when registration was set to "required"; users would instead see an error message.
  • [Aurora] Fixed an issue with headers and footers appearing multiple times on some community pages.
  • [Aurora] Addressed an Aurora GraphQL API issue where certain custom fields were omitted from responses. These values now appear correctly.
  • [Aurora] Resolved an issue where the "CurrentUser" endpoint returned information about the anonymous user, not the actual current user, when using the Authorization header method of authentication.

    Ben, I think we all appreciate that you're trying to take the lead here and share this info with us. However, there are countless, well-established examples of release announcements and rollout plans in Atlas for this team to follow. We shouldn't be caught by surprise here, nor should there be a question of "Classic or Aurora."

    Often times, our CSM/TAM would know what's coming (and when) and would be able to share that with us. We also used to get system emails with our environment's release schedule. This time, everyone has told me that they're not allowed to disclose anything.

    I think we're all deeply concerned here. But me, I'm impressed... by how well this leadership team has capitalized on every opportunity to fuel my own doubts. Everything that has happened since IgniteTech took over has been fumbled. Well done!

    I'm subscribed to this section and didn't even get notified of it - I saw it because of the comments happening on it. So, that's a little odd.

    I'd also love to know if this is for Classic or Aurora? I haven't been notified of any updates (yet) to our Staging environment, but what is the schedule looking like? Where is the transparency?

    I also missed any updates about the version updates and when they would be occurring. We also need to be aware of this in advance and would like info on the new process.

    Oooh, I just received an (automated) email saying “community-staging.[mycompany].com has been changed from 25.4 to 25.8.”

    I would have appreciated a heads up about dates before this upgrade.

    Glad to see there is a release! It has been a while :)

    A few questions:

    • Is this for Classic AND Aurora?
    • will this be rolled to staging sites first, then prod, like the old process? If not, what’s the new process?
