Member Experience

Performance improvements

In this release, we've significantly streamlined theme loading and reduced the JavaScript footprint, resulting in faster page load times. We've also improved the redirect flow for archived content. In the coming releases, we will focus on further enhancing Core Web Vitals, specifically addressing Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) and Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) through optimized lazy loading and component loading strategies.

View history of blog posts and knowledge base articles

We've introduced a new permission called View edit history under Settings > Roles and Permissions > Content to allow members to view and compare different versions of blog posts and knowledge base articles.

Download from the Case Portal

You can now download the case list on your Case Portal page. Select Export CSV to make the file available in the browser’s download section.

Admin Experience

Improved Moderation Experience

We’ve redesigned the Community-level Moderation area to be more intuitive and efficient, consolidating all moderation controls into a single page for faster, and easier management. The improved layout enhances visibility into moderation actions, improving overall usability.

The following are modifications at the community level:

  1. The Moderation area is organized to help you navigate to key features or manage various moderation aspects efficiently.
  2. In the newly introduced Moderation Types section, you can configure how to moderate discussions, ideas, replies or comments on discussions, blog posts, knowledge base articles, events, and media.
  3. When you select Edit for any of these options, you can:

    • assign the moderation type for all members
    • override this setting for specific roles with another moderation type value
    • specify the roles that will bypass moderation

The following is an example for moderating discussions and replies.

    • The Community moderation type field for discussions and replies by all members fall under the Selective moderation type, and they are hidden until reviewed and approved.
    • The Role-based Override field is set to Required for the roles selected in the Apply only to the following roles field. Discussions and replies by members with these roles are made public but go through moderation review.
    • The roles added to the Exclude Roles field automatically bypasses any moderation action.

  4. Spam Management and its bypass permission has been moved to a dedicated section of its own under MODERATION.
  5. Content moderation settings are now governed by granular controls. To turn off the feature, you can set all types to Auto-Approved. Starting with this release, the setting is enabled by default and has been removed from this screen to avoid redundancy.

The following are the modifications at the category level:

  1. The moderation section for categories is renamed to Content moderation types for content review.
  2. From here, you can override the moderation types for content types set at the community level.

Duplicate post activity limit

In Aurora communities v25.02, we released the Activity Limit feature to limit rapid actions on the community. With this release, we’ve expanded this functionality to prevent spamming the community with duplicate posts.

To configure this limit, find the Duplication limit in 1 hour setting found under Settings > Moderation > Activity Limits and select Edit next to it. If you set this to:

  • 0, then there is no limit on duplicate posts. Members can post any number of identical posts.
  • 1, then no duplicate posts are not allowed.
  • 2 or higher, then members can publish up to the specified number of identical posts.

Hyperlinking permission

In this release, a new Content type permission called Turn on link hyperlinking is available. Members with a role granted this permission can post URLs that are automatically displayed as hyperlinks. Links posted by members with this permission set to Deny are displayed as plain-text. You may want to set the permission to Deny for some less-trusted roles, like new members, to avoid link-based scams and spam.

This permission is set to Grant by default and does not apply to @mentions and internal community links.

Developer Experience

Shared Code for Custom Endpoints and Components

We are excited to announce the addition of a new /src/shared directory in Khoros Communities Aurora SDK, designed to streamline the management of code, assets, and utilities reused across API endpoints and React components.

This enhancement allows developers to centralize common resources, promoting better maintainability and reducing code duplication.

See Reusing Code in Endpoints and Components for more information.

Search Results page is now customizable

You can now customize the Search Results page like you can with other page types through the API and SDK. This update lets you add custom components and other widgets to the page to refine your user experience.

One caveat with this update is that not all page areas can be altered. Certain areas of the page, including the results area and search fields, are still required. Updating this page with Designer is also available.

Custom Field Visibility Controls

You can now control the visibility of custom fields on the front end using the new visible field in the API. By designating the field's visibility as false, you can hide that field and its value(s) so it doesn't appear on the front end, though it can still be used in your background processes.

One example is sentiment analysis data, enabling you to track and handle content differently based on the messages' sentiment results without exposing this information to the members or moderators.

See Custom Field Descriptor File Format for more information.

Activity Limit Settings

In this release, we have introduced two settings for your community that can be configured via GraphQL. Earlier, these were config-based; now, Khoros has provided them as settings for posts and private messages.

  • Flood limit setting
  • Role-based limit setting

With flood limit settings, you can maintain a community without spam content. For example, admins can enable members to post only 30 posts in 20 minutes.

See Working with Flood Limits for more information.

Content Workflow Email Notifications

GQL support for CoAuthorNotification and CwaNotification email templates has been added to help admins test email notifications while overriding the i18n texts.

Moderation Enhancements

This release has enhanced spam management, content filtering, and moderation styles to exempt member roles from publishing their content without a moderator review.

See Working with Moderation for more information.

You Found It. We Fixed It.

Analytics

  • Data is now retrieved successfully when you change the date range to Last Year under Analytics > Dashboard > Date > Custom.
  • When you schedule the download of analytics reports with a 3-month date range, the date range is now correctly passed and the data is retrieved correctly.

Content Editor

  • We resolved an issue in which content was intermittently lost in the content editor due to auto-page refresh.
  • You can now add links to PDFs in blog posts.
  • You can now successfully add URLs with diacritics to posts in the community.
  • File attachments with the .jmppresets file extension are now supported.

Content Workflow

  • When anonymous users or non-admin members access archived content, they are redirected to a blank page unless a related content URL is provided. If a URL is provided, they are redirected to that page instead.
  • Articles or blog posts in the "Awaiting Review" state open in the editor without triggering an "Access Denied" error.

Designer

  • Font families and weights chosen in the Theme editor are now respected in the community.
  • Padding added to custom widgets is now respected in the community.

Email Notifications

  • Tags email notifications are sent only when a post includes subscribed tags, and the email displays only the tags the member subscribed to instead of all tags on the post.
  • The Salesforce integration failure email for the community is now sent successfully to the email addresses added in the Email for Salesforce integration failure notification under Settings > Features > Salesforce.

  • Image migration endpoint from Classic to Aurora has now been successfully migrated.
  • In communities that upgraded from Classic to Aurora, images that were stretched are now sized properly.

  • When you navigate to a member profile, select a link from the profile page, and then use the browser's back button, you are redirected back to the member profile page as expected.
  • Members can now successfully authenticate and access hidden groups via the invite link instead of being redirected to the homepage in an unauthenticated state.
  • When you open community posts from Care, the post opens and keeps you signed into the community if you're already signed in.
  • The Date Format options under My settings > Preferences now show different options to choose from.

Mentions

  • When you @mention and use the arrow keys on the keyboard to navigate through the suggested options, only the selected option appears alongside the "@" symbol.
  • When there are multiple @mentions, they are now displayed with proper spacing between the mentions on the published article page.
