Adding a checkbox to the blog post edit page

Hi lithosphereians   I would like to add a checkbox to a blog post, a custom field if you will, which will allow editors to select which blog posts feature in a carousel on the community page.    ...

    I don't believe you will be able to add a field to the edit form without Lithium help.  Are you planning to use the 'feature this post' functionality that is currently available in the Options menu of the article? Is there value in having the editors edit the message to feature it rather than doing it from the article page? Featured threads does have API support to easily pull those messages into a carousel.

     

    If you did not want to use the 'feature' functionality, I could see adding a metadata field to blog articles that the editor can set by editing the message.  They would also have to edit the message to unset it.  However, adding new metadata fields is something you will need to contact Professional Services to do.
