API, Don't send me any community email

Is the do_not_email endpoint equivlant to the 'Don't send me any community email' user setting?

 

By setting the do_not_email, does the user not recieve any more emails? And if so, how do you unset it, so that the user can receive emails again?

    The do_not_email endpoint is equivalent to the 'Don't send me any community email' in user setting. If it is set by either from the endpoint or from the user profile setting page, the user will no longer receive any more emails. The user can unset it by unchecking it from the same user setting profile page.
