API to delete a message post

Is there an API call to delete a message post from a Discussion Board?

  • Alternatively, how do you change a message's "deleted" value to true...

Someone from lithium will have to better explain but the short answer is no. We were told it was a security risk (makes sense) and there are no plans to expose this type of functionality through the REST API.

    Hello all,

This was discussed in an Idea (and an associated thread where this was brought up awhile ago). The idea itself has been accepted and is under development, but is not ready for primetime in full. There are some functions that are available which include deleting tags from a post. For more information, please see the idea linked here. The additional functionality that is currently available can be found here in our documentation.

    Thanks,

    Ted C

TedC I think they refer to message removal (post deletion) and not tag removal.

So..... is there a way nearly 3 years later to delete a message?

Our work-around solution was to create a non-public hidden forum and move the "deleted" messages into that location.
