Hi Gursimrat
I believe the Lithium platform already offers a way to automatically embed rich content from supported external providers (such as Youtube) in a forum post. This is detailed here
I have added one as an example - so you can see how it works on the Lithosphere

Trying to test here as it is not working on our community.

- Gursimrat12 years agoLeaderThis also brings in the description and the title etc, is there any way only video can be displayed?
and do we need to mail support@lithium.com to enable Rich Content Link Previews in our production community. Also, can we get it on stage as well? - PaoloT12 years agoLithium Alumni (Retired)
Hi Gursimrat
1) If you want to embed only video then you can use the appropriate video upload icon in the Rich Text editor (if you have enough permissions to use it). This is not automatic of course.
2) Yes - raise a lithocase with support to get it enabled for your communities. Normally you would want to enable it on stage first to check it out, then move to production.
Thanks,
Paolo
As Paolo explains there's currently no such feature that automatically turns YouTube URLs into embedded players. Users should use the video button in the message rich editor instead: http://lithosphere.lithium.com/t5/customer-connection-knowledge/Enabling-video-on-your-community/ta-p/6568
