Take a look at the Message edit API.

You should be able to specify a message.post_date to edit the posted date of a message.

Hi Yuri,
thank you. Looks like this is the thing I am looking for. Since I am not realy good with this REST thing, can you tell me hwo the call we have to look like if I am using it?
For example: I got a message with ID 12263 which was postet at 14th June 2013. Which call would set the date to 2th May 2013?

After looking further into it looks like this was mis-documented. You will need to create a support request to get this done. I will make sure we update the documentation accordingly.
