Can't get notes creator id when on single note view

You could call it private messages but they are also called notes according to the url, api v2 and such.

I am creating a component that I have added to my note item page.

The url look something like this...... http://communitystage.<name>.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage/tab/inbox/notes-view-mode/single/note-id/82

I am trying to get the id of the creator's/sender's user so I can use the API to grab messages only relating to them in my component.

According to the docs posted by VarunGrazitti the response of a call to http://community.lithium.com/community-name/restapi/vc/users/id/<id>/mailbox/notes/id/<note_id> would return a from and to node like:

    <to type="user" href="/users/id/<id>">
      <login type="string"><username></login>
    </to>
    <from type="user" href="/users/id/<id>">
      <login type="string"><username></login>
    </from>

from which you could extract the information needed, no?

maybe it's not directly possible to grab the information needed from whatever context object you are using (code would definitely help, no matter if it works or not) and you have to make the way over an intermediate API call...

Were you able to pull the private message (or note) details from a context object.

Like your original question, I want to be able to get the username from the sender when reading a private message, but I can't find any context information from page or env.

Unfortunately not, the context objects had not data containing to the information I wanted.

But if you  make an API V1 call, you can grab the data from this and sort though it accordingly.

That is what I used in the end.
