Code to implement calendar functionality?

Do we have anyone out there who has successfully implemented calendar functionality on Lithium platform to allow users to post events and allow users to schedule meetings with each other?

 

I have posted this as an idea for Lithium to consider, because this is not currently possible on Lithium platform (not without custom work from professional services): http://lithosphere.lithium.com/t5/customer-ideas/Calendar-functionality-on-Lithium/idi-p/87114

 

But wonder if any develpers out there who has done it before.  Please advise.

    We have a Community event coming up. Is there a way to post a notice and include an opportunity for members to click and have it inserted in their calendar?

      RaySavich We have implemented google calendar with a couple of communities where the events posted from Google calendar are displayed in the community. It works pretty well. One such example is on community.us.playstation.com using Google calendar or there is a better customisation on community.eu.playstation.com with their custom calendar.
