"Common" parent page is not in the list for creating a custom page

I am creating a custom category page and following directions from this article (http://lithosphere.lithium.com/t5/Customer-Connection-Knowledge/Creating-a-custom-Category-page-using-Studio/ta-p/6121...

    Hi

     

    the fastest way would probably be to open the Category Page code (Page Type > choose > Common > Category Page , or the page template you want to reuse > xml) , copy the xml code, and paste it in the new custom page...

    I agree -- I finally figured out it was quicker just to cut and past the XML for a similar page.  Thanks for your reply!
