Editing Blog Component

i realy need to rearange the message list (see screenshot) ... wher for inst. subject (onderwerp) goes on one line, the other info below it. No need of the <thead>. As you can see, the table doesn...

    Hi kbulens ,

     

    There is a settings in the backend controls how many characters got display in the layout. the text will just get truncated if the subject string is > X characters.

     

    I tried to search admin, it seems that the setting is not exposed to any tabs.

     

    The fastest way is to log a ticket with Support (if your community is live), or ask your PS contact (if community is under development) to increase a setting called "layout.truncate_length.message_subject".

     

    Of course, you are always welcome to submit a idea to add such a configurable setting in admin, I will kudo it.

You can change the width of the columns in layout using css.

    thx for the reply sunny_mody, i know. I’ve hidden already a couple of cells as well using css. What i realy want to do is have the subject on one complete line, using rowspan’s & colspan’s or sth else. But this i cannot do using css. If this is not possible … i can only ask :)

     

    The questions text get’s cut off after x number of charakters … that’s not realy a desirable behaviour … looked around in the admin & studio section, but i can’t find where to turn it off.

        It got changed by an admin at lithium. I got this reply and suits our needs:

        I’ve checked and the setting is not exposed in the Community Admin but can be adjusted by us (and support in the future if needed).

        We can’t remove the limit, but I’ve increased it to 100… let me know if that’s ok or if you need a different value.

        In case, we can also change the truncate text from “…” to something else.

         

        ... but off corse, it would nice to integrate this in the admin settings. Even the ability tot add custom ... <a>read more/go to topic ... </a>
