Hot Topic Feature

AbhishekIlindra - Hot topic can be configured here from the admin. You can set the threshold for the topic to be hot.

AbhishekIlindra - This is to showcase the hot topics (topics getting a lot of traction). Just a criteria though and you can set it accordingly. 

The "hotness" of a topic is calculated as a combination of popularity+recentness.

Take a look at the blog post written by Dr. Wu on how the algorithm works. It explains in simple term how the hotness scores are calculated and how the threshold for hotness is set. You can find that blog post here "What Makes It Hot?"
