How to call 'search form?

The code is useful but i have some problems using it.

I called the Search Form with the code you provided.

• Before i logged into this community, i saw 3 empty fields in the search form.
• After i loggied in, i saw normal search form as i expected (with only 1 empty field)
• How can i fix this? Is this normal?

When click on the empty field or key in some keywords, a suggested list of search result will appear. How to customize this list? See the image below, it's so messy.

That's odd.  You should only see 1 input, 1 dropdown, and the search button regardless of your signed in state.  Can you PM me the community you are working on?  I will take a look.

I just found another thing about this search form when i was not signed in yet.

1) When i refreshed my page, i saw a extra yellow message box on the left side.

2) After the page done with refreshing, the yellow message box disappeared and i saw only the search form with 3 empty boxes.

3) If i click on "Turn On Suggestion" below the boxes, i saw only 1 empty boxes with some extra words appeared on left and bottom. See image below.

Note: If i signed in, i would experienced the #1 and #2. At #2, the page stayed for like 3 secs, later it automatically changed to only 1 empty box.

What is happening? Should i do some extra coding to get rid of these?

Ok, I think I have it fixed.  The issue was that you were calling the lithium search box outside of the lithium content area.  That stripped out a lot of css and removed some javascript that we need to make auto-complete work.  The reason we remove that javascript outside of lithium content is so our js doesn't interfere with js you might need to run your header.  What I have done is removed the call to the search form from your content wrapper and replaced it with one inside the common-header area of your Community page.  I haven't really styled it but it is now functioning as you would expect.  One thing to keep  in mind is that this only affects your community page.  If you want search in that location throughout the site you will need to move the search component into your Header page and adjust the header layout so that the search row is above the title row.  I can help you with that if you want.  Just let me know.

Oh i see. I'm really thankful that you look into this.

In fact, i wanted to place this Search Form at the most top right header (page header) which will appear through out the community with different languages of forums. That's why i posted here to ask for the script to call Search Form. So I placed the script inside the Content Wrapper > Page Header instead of the common header of Community Page. This is our preferred design. I did not really script it nicely though because i wanted to test out the function given by Adam, but....

Can you help?What script i have to use to call Search Form that fits my community so i wont have css/js issue? Or do you have other options to do that?

I think we should have some option for that - it makes sense.  The styling is as simple as adjusting the css classes to not use .lia-content in the selector but the js to run auto-complete is likely a bit trickier.  Let me look into that today and get back to you.
