Lightbox for Video and Photos

A customer is looking to have TKB articles display photos and videos in a Lightbox when selected.

Would it be possible add suport for this functionality to our app via something like this:

http://www.no-margin-for-errors.com/projects/prettyphoto-jquery-lightbox-clone/

If yes, would the client need to manually edit each video/photo link in an article?

Or could we customize the WYSIWYG toolbar to add new Insert Video/Photo buttons that automatically use this new lightbox code?

  • Tagged.com used some custom code on their own to include this light-box functionality for the videos on their landing page.

  • As we are just about to launch our TKB implementation (with a strong support focus) we are integrating a lot of image and video content as well. I feel that it suits well within the normal text flow to have the images and videos inline. Only downside are bigger images like full screenshots - the only occasion I miss something lightboxesque. Videos never occured as a space-waster to me, because when inserting them I can easily pick the desired preview / thumbnail size already in Lithium.

What's the reason, why the customer wants to explicitly have Lightbox support? The additional attention by putting media exclusively up front?

Thanks P-Dub! This is exactly what I was looking for using the exact same prettyphoto code.

I did a test on the stage and the code works for videos and photos posted in a TKB article.

It does add a formal level of polish to the presentation of official TKB content.
