MessageView - what is it?

Lots of items in the community have the class MessageView, and lots of components have the prefix message-view. Is MessageView a quilt that these components derive from? I am not seeing a MessageView...

Hi Lindsey, The component with the MessageView class is the component that gets rendered for each message that is displayed on the ForumTopicPage (for forums), the BlogArticlePage (for blogs), the IdeaPage (for ideas), etc.

We have quilts for a single message on each of these pages. The quilt name varies based on the conversation style. Here is a breakdown:

Conversation Style Message quilt name
forums ForumMessage
blogs BlogMessage
ideas IdeaMessage
contests ContestMessage
qanda (Q&A) QandaMessage
tkb TkbMessage
