Unique Page Titles for SEO

Hi, 

 

It seems as though the page title for every page is the same as the name or H1 for that page. So in the breadcrumbs if our site is called "Community Forums" that page's title is "Community Forums - Comany XYZ Community".

 

I am fine with the H1 being named "Community Forums" - I dont want to change that. But is there a way to alter the page title so it doesn't just grab the H1? I'd like to make the titles unique (for SEO) and keep the H1s. So this page's title would be something like "Teen Parenting Community Forums - Company XYZ Community" while the H1 remains "Community Forums".

 

Is this possible?

    If you're a community admin, you should be able to change the title of a page by adding a text string via the text editor in Studio. So if you wanted to change the name of the community, you would search for the text string  page.CommunityPage.title and add the desired title to the text string like so:

     

    page.CommunityPage.title = Teen Parenting Community Forums - Company XYZ Community"

    Okay - but will this only change the page title? It wont also change the name of that page on the page itself, the H1?

     

    For instance, this Lithium page in this forum - http://lithosphere.lithium.com/t5/Growing-Successful-Communities/bd-p/growingcommunities

     

    the page title AND the breadcrumb / navigation is "Growing Successful Communities" (the page title has the appended brand of "Lithosphere Community"). So - if this forum wanted the page title to be "Growing Awesome, Great,  Successful Communities - Lithosphere Community" , would the new words "Awesome, Great" also appear on the page? Or can it be unique and different in just the page title?

     

    I can test to find out, just making sure!
