As I see, it's one api call per user, and the community may have thousands of users , so is there an api that returns metrics for all the users ? I am supposing here that making thousands of rest api call per day is not a good solution. Please advise ...

This could be a good use-case for a custom Studio endpoint. Here are some articles about them:
Endpoints are still in beta and thus are not on by default yet (but we are targeting a GA release for them soon so they will be turned on). If you don't already have an Endpoints tab in studio would like to use them, please file a support request to have them turned on.
