What is the page type for the boards in studio?

I having a real hard time identifying the page type is studio to make a change to the page layout for our boards page. I cant figure out a way to indetify what the page is even labeled in studio. It would be nice to at least see a view of the page so you have some reference to what your are actually chaing in your layout.

I'm currently trying to identify this page. It is the third level down. Catagory > Topic > ????. I would think to call it a Board Page. But there is no page type is studio by that name. Is there a way to know what all these pages are labeled. I checked the source code for the page.... no luck. It makes it really difficulty to know what page you are actutaly editing in studio. This needs to be addressed in the UI for studio in some way. Otherwise you make a change... then preview... revert version... back and forth all day!

  • Hi Brad,

This page is actually called the "Forum Page" and all the board related pages under the "Forum" heading in the Pages selector. I'll pass this feedback on to our Studio PM to see if we can make identifying page names easier for you.

Hope this helps for now :)

Great thanks, I guess I would have figured it out eventually. Most of the pages seemed to be named appropriately, but it would be nice to have a preview mode directly below the layout menu or at least a screen shot of the most recent version of that page.

    Thanks!

    Hi Brad --

Thanks for the feedback. We couldn't agree with you more. The entire workflow surrounding design and publishing can be greatly improved.  Ideally, we'd like to have in-context editing which would allow you to add/remove/rearrange components and edit content on a rendered page so that you can see your changes in real time. This is a longer term vision but hopefully gives you an idea about our general direction.  In the shorter term, we'd like to smooth out the UX in high traffic areas.  The Page tab in Studio is a great example (in fact, it came up in a meeting recently).  We'd like to re-evaluate the grouping and make component descriptions more clear.

Thanks again for posting. It's great to hear direct customer feedback.
