Aurora: Message members on moderation actions to their posts
While moderating content, moderators must take action on posts or replies by either approving or rejecting them. Reasons for these actions can vary from better site content organization to corrective action on inappropriate content. Moderators also need to communicate with members to get more information about their content or inform them about the action they are taking on their content.
Moderators can send private messages to members who posted the content to improve communication of these moderation actions. After you send the message, you can view the message in your Inbox Sent folder and also carry further conversation with the member. Learn more about Inbox.
To message members from the Moderation tab, view the below walkthrough. The same can be done from the Spam and Abuse tabs.
- Open the Options menu against the post from the Moderation tab.
- Select Message Member.
A window to create and send message with the member-id pre-populated in the To field opens. You can add more members and select Send Message.
You can view the sent messages in your Sent folder by clicking Inbox in the left panel and selecting Sent. To send a follow-up message from here, enter another response in the Reply… field.
Note: If this post was published by an anonymous user, the option to send message will not appear in the options menu.
