Flood controls for Aurora communities

With Khoros, there are limits on how often people are allowed to post, upload images, videos, and attachments, tag content, send private messages, and other community actions before triggering flood controls. Flood controls are in place to help combat potential spam

Note: Those with the Administrator and Moderator role are exempt from flood control restrictions; these thresholds affect only regular members.

The following table lists the default flood rate settings for various actions performed by the member within a specified period of time.

  • Hi Team,

    1. For these rules, are edits to existing content treated the exact same as creation of new content?
    2. Am I able to monitor anywhere how frequently the respective default flood controls in place are being triggered?

Hi sloth2073 - Hope you had a great Thanksgiving week! (Apologies, did not see this sooner)

    1. Edits to existing content are not treated the same as the creation of new content and the flood limits for the creation of new posts will not apply here. That being said, we will discuss the approach to take on this soon and consider adding flood limits for editing posts (given the prevalence of spam being posted after the initial post creation).
    2. We don't yet serve analytics on the flood limits - SahilC FYI

  • sloth2073- I just posted my recent change (enabling moderation for all passive ranks) that reduced my spam issue back to 2-3 /day (from 200+ /day).
