Aurora: Configure Follow settings and permissions for the community
Following has several settings and a permission that administrators can configure.
Configure Follow settings
- Go to Settings > Features > Inbox > Follows.
- Configure the following settings:
- Follow Content: Turn on this option to enable community members to follow content in the community.
- Members automatically follow content they participate in: Turn on this option if you want community members to automatically follow content they’ve participated in (commented on, liked, etc).
- Automatically follow group activity when joining a group: Turn on this option to enable members to receive notifications on all activity in groups they join instead of requiring them to do it manually. Members who previously joined a group before this option was enabled must follow group content individually to receive notifications.
Manage Follow permissions
Note: To manage these permissions for a particular role, go to the Community Roles page at the desired community level and edit the permissions of the individual roles.
- Go to the Roles and Permissions page for the community.
- Beside Community Permissions Defaults, click Edit.
- In the left column, click Inbox.
- In the Following section, beside the individual permissions, select Grant or Deny as required.
Unless you have specified different permissions for certain roles or at different community levels, this selection affects all members of the community.
