Events (EA)
We are happy to announce the Early Availability for our new discussion style, Events!
With Events, you can harness the enthusiasm generated by interactions between your customers, company, and brand ambassadors and foster deeper connections with your customers. Events provides a platform to schedule, announce, inform, and discuss everything from the smallest group gathering to the largest user conference.
Note: To enable Events in your community contact Support Team.
You can create an Events node at a Community level, a category level, or under a Group Hub.
With this new discussion style you can:
- Create events specifying the title, date/time, location, social live video, description of the event, the presenters of the event, and add products, tags and labels to your events.
- Toggle between list and calendar views, and sort/filter events based on event status (upcoming, in progress, past) and labels.
- Embed the calendar component in your community.
- Embed social live video in an event page.
The EA release of Events also includes these critical features:
- Use the RSVP component to track how many members plan to attend each event.
- Invite community members to events.
- Send private messages to members who have accepted the invitation.
- Comment on existing events. Comments to events are In-line and threaded by default. Similar to any other discussion styles, you can moderate comments on events.
- Subscribe/unsubscribe to an Events node, a specific event, or a label and receive notifications for new events or updates to existing events.
- Send event reminders to the attendees.
Between now and the GA Release of Events, we plan to provide these additional features:
- Analytics support
- Full API support
Community Syndication: Comments (EA)
We are pleased to announce Early Availability for our latest Community Syndication component: Comments Syndication. This component creates a comment box on any external web page. Comments entered in the component are tied into your Community.
Here is how the Comments component might look in your product pages.
The comment box can either be associated with an existing topic or trigger a new topic to be created in Community in the forum of your choosing. Comments in the external page appear in the related Community thread and vice versa. Comments Syndication enables you to create a network of discussions across multiple web properties, all controlled by the same JavaScript and markup snippets.
Here are a few of the main features of a Comments List:
- Any user can view comments in the external page.
- Any user can use the Options menu to view the comment in the Community.
- Registered Community members can post comments. The component directs users who are either not signed in or are not members of the Community sign-in/registration page and then returns them to the external page. SSO and non-SSO flows are supported.
- Signed-in users can mark a comment as inappropriate content and delete their comments/replies. If a comment has a reply, then the original comment cannot be deleted by the author. (Note that the ability to delete comments depends on the Delete own posts permission in Community Admin.).
- Signed-in users can reply to comments. Replies use an inline threaded reply format.
Want to learn more? Want to join the EA program? Contact Khoros Support or your Customer Support Manager (CSM) to get started.

Khoros Communities Slack Integration (EA)
Khoros Communities offers a Slack integration app that acts as a bridge between Slack and your community.
Note: The Community by Khoros Slack app is currently in EA with a limited number of customers. To be considered for the EA program, contact your CSM and request to be added to the waiting list.
Using the app, your employees can perform light-weight, common community tasks from within Slack.
From the Community by Khoros Slack App, you can:
- Receive notifications
- Perform immediate actions (reply, kudo)
- Run simple community searches
To get started with the Community by Khoros Slack integration, you must:
- Open a Support ticket and request access to the Community by Khoros Slack integration EA program.
- Set up your Community/Slack integration
- Enable community members to use the Slack integration
- Get started interacting with your community via Slack
Note: In this initial release, you can configure only one Community with Slack. If your company has multiple Khoros Communities, we recommend integrating the one you feel would best benefit from this integration.

Community Moderation via Manage View in Khoros Care
Manage View for Community adds a new Moderation column type in Khoros Care’s Manage View. Based on the Post column type, Moderation columns add some of the most common community moderation features.
Moderation columns present community posts as they arrive. These posts might be new topics in forums, accepted solutions, ideas, etc. Regardless, when moderation is active (enabled) and supported for that discussion style, the post is presented in the Moderation column for moderator review and action.
Note: Manage View is not intended to be a total replacement for other community moderation and management options. Rather, Manage View for Community is meant as an aid for moderators and managers in high-scale, complex communities, supporting primary use cases as encountered daily.
Requirements
To use Community Moderation in Manage View for this initial release, you must meet these requirements:
- The associated Khoros Community must be updated to at least 20.8 and must be integrated with Khoros Care.
- Community members must be granted the Manage View Moderator role, which is set in the Khoros Care Response “Admin” controls for Manage View users.
- Care users with the Manage View Moderator user type must have a community handle that includes “moderator” permissions for the boards being moderated. This handle can be mapped manually or via SSO in Response.
Availability
Community Moderation in Manage View will be available with the mid-October Khoros Care release. Learn more about Khoros Care and Community Moderation in Manage View.
You Found It. We Fixed It.
- We fixed an issue on communities using a non-responsive skin and Editor feature version 2 that caused an exception when a TKB article contained HTML an attribute surrounded in quotes.
- Newly registered Community REST v1 event listeners are now working correctly on communities with more than one horizontal-scale node.
- Community Analytics now correctly displays the Community/Brand name correctly when looking at data under Members > Value Analytics.
- Sorting TKB articles based on TKB Helpfulness ratings in LiQL queries to the messages collection now works as expected.
- Communities using Mentions feature v2.1 no longer see exceptions when a user copies a mention from one post and copies it into another post using "Copy" instead of "Copy Address".
- Enhanced the rate-limiting controls on our Kudos so that repeated kudo and un-kudo actions do not flood community member’s email.
- Khoros’ anti-CSRF tokens have been upgraded to strengthen Community’s defence against CSRF attacks.
