ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Khoros Communities 21.1 Release Notes My team is so happy we're crying - hiding posts from the quarantine, filtering only by system-added ones, and excluding multi-edited posts... My rough guess is that this is going to cut down the amount of time we spend on spam by at least 20%. Thank you! Re: Khoros Communities 20.10 Release Notes Thanks, this is great news. The 30 day window doesn't really help us out, as we see about 600 spam messages in that time - nobody is going through the quarantine to page 5 or 6 with 100 posts per page. I'd really like to dismiss messages one-at-a-time. We've noticed it's possible for the filter to pull messages in after they're posted (looks like a new user editing a post is a good way to trigger this). If the solution is to move the 30 day window up to say, 1 day - then I'd be concerned about hiding legitimate posts that didn't get a chance to be reviewed by a human. I realize I'm getting off-topic here so happy to take this to another thread if that's relevant 🙂 What I'd really love is to have actions right on the message. We're banning true spammers through a convoluted process (which I sped up only slightly with more Tampermonkey scripts) and using scripts to hide their posts from the quarantine list. This takes 20-60 seconds per user depending on how fast the Community is responding and how well you place your mouse cursor while the profile pages load. Consider Discourse's spam plugin - all those actions are available right on the post in quarantine: Something like that would be extremely helpful. I also notice that they tell you who (Akismet vs a user) flagged the post (#1 in the plan list). Re: Khoros Communities 20.10 Release Notes That'd help for sure allensmith81 - I went through a free coaching session some time ago and was told we were doing everything possible in the standard interface. Moderation actions (especially spam) take a lot of time from our staff. One issue is that there's no way to hide spam messages in the quarantine. If it's legitimate spam, it just sits there. Hard to know where you've left off and likely that other people will waste time reviewing the same messages. As a workaround, we added a color on a role in Admin. When we ban a spammer, we also add the 'banned' role which colorizes their username in the quarantine. I then wrote a TamperMonkey script which collapses posts that have a colorized username. It works, but it's a browser-side hack. Re: Khoros Communities 19.8 Release Notes cblown would you be able to share some examples about how those sorting routines are useful to you? I couldn't come up with any instances in our Community where this might help us but was really curious about the time spent adding that, as it seemed like someone must have specifically requested it. Always looking for the hot tips to get that data out 😁 Re: Austin Community Board Hmm, bummer - I'm getting access denied with no way to request membership. I'm downtown Austin and actually pass quite a few people each day wearing Spredfast shirts - would really like to be involved locally with some folks. Re: API call to fetch spam posts Hey SuzieH, thanks for confirming that nothing is out there currently. Are there plans to add spam to the API in the future? We have some problems we'd like to solve with the existing spam queue and being able to fetch the results elsewhere seems like a potential way forward.
