Filter search page directly from homepage

Hi all,

I'd like to be able to filter the search results directly from the search bar in homepage.

In particular I'm looking for way to add a widget-filter to select the type of content to be searched (TKB / Forum etc..) which would be added to the main search bar in the website (basically the CommunityHero quilt).

If I try to use the widget <component id="search.widget.type-filter" isDropDown="false"/> (that does exactly what i need in the Search Result Page) the community crashes. I've already contacted the support which confirmed that there is no way to add that widget to the quilt I need.

Last info is that the search.widget.type-filter works in an ajax fashon adding dinamically to the url the following GET parameters:

• filter=includeForums&include_forums=true
• filter=includeTkbs&include_tkbs=true
• filter=includeTkbs,includeForums&include_tkbs=true&include_forums=true
