Freemarker random functionality

Hello, I'm trying to create a simple engagement app for my community that would randomly display words drawn from a database that I create. Would Freemarker be the best way to do this? If so,...

I agree that Javascript is probably a better way to go than freemarker. I would also suggest not using a true database but maybe just a text file that is read in to an array. This page has a pretty good break down of what you would need to do:
