@mention like Feature to be used

Hi,

 

As we have @mention feature in our RTE to mention the user in Lithium, similarly we have a list of products that are coming from an external API. Now the client needs a feature where in the list of products should pop-up in the RTE, same as it comes for the users.. 

Is this possible, if yes, is it a custom feature for which Lithium can do the changes? 

 

Could you please provide some details about the same?
