Where on earth are the User Statistics and Your Latest Nofitification bits (in Hero) coming from?

I'm pretty new, but (think) have a fairly good understanding of the layouts & components.  However, I'm struggling to find these boogers:

 

Objective:  I want to remove them.  Rather, I'd like to have a smaller Hero w/ just the Search & Welcome

 

Any tips would be appreciated!

    Update:  it seems to be coming from here:  

     

    I get it.  It's defined on the community page (even though it lives in the header) so the community page's header looks different than the other pages.

    Please correct me if I'm wrong.
