No, adding or changing a custom tag (those not user-facing) in the Classic community doesn’t trigger a community event as per the "Subscribe to Community events" API. Custom tags are more for internal use and don't have the same triggers as normal user-facing tags. If you're looking for an event to be triggered, you'd need to look at other actions like posting or editing content.

Hi Claudius
It sounds like you are exploring custom tags in the Khoros Classic Community, which is great. Just so you know, adding or changing custom tags will not automatically trigger events that the "Subscribe to Community Events" API tracks. The API mainly picks up bigger actions like posting, replying, or liking.
Also, are you looking to use custom tags to help automate tasks, track certain content, or maybe for analytics? I would love to hear how you are planning to use them in your community.
If you want to talk more about this, feel free to reply here or send me a direct message, whichever is easier for you.
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing more about your plans! I'm looking to track activity in an idea exchange and want to allow content managers to flag certain ideas or even idea comments and custom tags seemed to be the right moderation tool for that task. But if adding custom tags doesn't trigger community events that approach won't work.
akashdYou also mentioned that liking/kudoing would be triggering community events. According to the documentation this doesn't seem to be the case though. I'm currently not receiving any like events for our ideas. Did you get likes working through community event subscription?
