Approvals Activity Log in Khoros Social Marketing: Now Available!
What’s Launching We’re excited to introduce a new feature creating enhanced oversight of your approvals operations. Approvals activity log summarizes when approval rules and approval teams are added, edited, and deleted. Customers with multiple initiatives and multiple approval rules will now be able to identify when and how edits to your rule set will impact your posts and replies. Changes to approval teams and rules will be timestamped, with the actor identified, posts or replies, team and initiative impacted. How do I get started? Approvals activity log is located within the Administration section of the Khoros Social Marketing product. Company admins and manager roles only will have access to this feature. Company admins and managers roles only can add, edit or delete approval rules and approval teams. To locate the Approvals Activity Log, navigate to the profile button within Khoros Social Marketing > select Company Settings > navigate to Approvals within the Approvals left panel and select “Activity.” What else should I know? Customers with multiple approval rules will see them listed in priority order in the left hand column of “Approval Rules”. For Activity Log purposes, we are enumerating all of your rules in numerical order (top to bottom, #1, #2, and so forth). This is in order to associate a change in rule in the activity log to the coinciding rule that changed within your approvals settings. Approval activity log will reflect changes dated February 19, 2020, onward. The log will not be retroactive. The following actions will be captured within the activity log: Added New Team Edited Approval Team Deleted Approval Team Added Team to Rules Edited Team Order (includes team order, switching between sequential, parallel) Removed Team from Rules Added New Rule Edited Approval Rule Deleted Approval Rule The activity log is sortable by date, additionally you will have the ability to filter by actor, action, approval team, initiative and type (post or response). The activity log is not exportable at this time. More Questions Khoros values governance and we hope this new visualization and information added insights to your operations. Khoros has been investigating old posts from Facebook being auto-imported into Khoros Social Marketing Calendar and Analytics. The old posts have created confusion for customers in calendar as well as altered analytics metrics. After thorough investigation, we determined that this is a bug on Facebook’s side. We have been in active discussions with Facebook the last several months and are working with them to engineer a solution. While Facebook has acknowledged the bug, they have not offered a timetable for a fix. We have therefore designed a workaround, implemented today, to counteract the negative impacts and remove old posts from your Calendar and Analytics. Please see below for details: Expected activity: Old posts would not auto-import into the Calendar or Analytics unless edits are done natively. Actual activity: Old post copies are auto-importing into Calendar and Analytics as new posts. Cause: Certain actions taken (such as testing Boost) within Facebook natively appears to be "creating" new Object ID's; effectively copying the old post and making a new one out of it. These duplicates appear to be temporary and are not accessible natively or via the API after a period of time passes. Workaround: We are identifying duplicate, old posts to then mark as deleted. Once marked, duplicates will no longer be visible in the Calendar and Analytics reporting. The workaround will only impact auto-imported items. What do customers need to do: Nothing; duplicate, old posts will be identified and removed by Khoros automatically. Workaround effective date: August 26th, 2019 Retroactive effective date: May 26th, 2019 How this impacts Analytics: Import of old posts has been inflating the number of published posts in Marketing Analytics exports and dashboards, and as a result, deflating engagement rates, for example, by increasing the numerator. Going forward this fix will identify and archive the posts, removing them from dashboard widgets and counts as well as within the Post export. This will decrease previous published post counts and improve engagement rate as these posts are no longer counted within the calculation. This will apply to the retroactive time range back to May 26, 2019. Additional Notes: Until the bug is resolved on Facebook’s end, we will continue this workaround to identify and remove duplicate, old posts. This means that old items may be present in the Calendar for up to an hour prior to removal. If you need to manually remove any posts, use the “bulk delete” option in the calendar list view. While we are marking old posts as deleted and removing them from view, we are not permanently deleting anything from Khoros or natively. Posts will still be archived in Khoros. Support: If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our Support Team or contact your Customer Success Manager. We appreciate your patience with Khoros we as bring resolution to this matter.ViewsSign in to react to this postCommentsChanges to Instagram Authentication in Social Marketing
Khoros Social Marketing Customers, Effective September 3, we are revising the method to authenticate Instagram accounts in Khoros Social Marketing (formerly Conversations). For existing customers, you will recall a two-step authentication process involving: 1) Instagram.com and 2) Facebook page login with admin access. Going forward, Khoros is moving new Instagram account authentications and account re-authentications to a one-step process, involving Facebook only. This change is consistent with Facebook’s prior announcement of future Instagram to Facebook API changes (Facebook blog post). What this means for customers: For customers with Instagram business accounts, no actions are required. For customers with Instagram personal (non-business) accounts, further actions are outlined below. Authenticating new non-business accounts: Khoros is no longer supporting new, non-business Instagram accounts. Upon enablement, customers will be prompted to convert to business profiles. Re-authenticating non-business accounts: Khoros is no longer supporting re-authentication of non-business Instagram accounts. Customers will experience no interruption to planning, auto importing and reporting through Khoros Marketing products, unless and until a re-authentication is prompted. Why convert to a business account: Converting an Instagram account to a business profile gives API access to deeper analytics and measurement metrics for your account. See below for a list of analytics business profiles will have access to in Khoros Marketing: How to convert to a business account: Facebook - Switch to a Business Account. How to add an Instagram account in Social Marketing: Add and Authenticate Instagram in Khoros Social Marketing. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to [email protected]. We are excited to announce Social Marketing customers now have the ability to publish to Instagram and other social networks (e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn) within one publishing flow. We know that as marketers use Instagram with greater frequency, the ability to do more with fewer required actions or disparate steps, is of need and help to teams and operations. With Instagram multi-channel publishing, users can plan, approve and publish content across all the major social networks within one post. Example Multi-Channel Post - With Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn selected. Previously, selecting Instagram would restrict the ability to select other social channels. Example Multi-Channel Post - Marketers will have the ability to distinguish copy amongst channels while being able to post the same image or video to each channel within the same post. Conditions to publish to Instagram and other channels at the same time. To utilize Instagram multi-channel publishing, the conditions for “Direct to Instagram” must be applicable: Instagram business account Single image or video - Instagram currently restricts the ability to publish more than one image or video at one time Image ratio - Instagram requires a 4:5 to 1:91 aspect ratio Content type - JPEG, PNG, BMP, Video or non-animated GIFs If the above conditions are not met, the publishing flow will direct to an Instagram single channel post only, that will be supported by “Mobile App” publishing. Note: publishing currently allows one Instagram account per post, irrespective of mobile app or direct to Instagram. Looking for help or need more information?
