Publishing

Paid Promotion for Facebook and Instagram

Users are now able to create ads from existing organic content and manage all users who need ad account access within the platform.

There will be no need to re-route workflows or learn a new module as paid execution is integrated into the publishing window. Users can apply the same metadata (labels and plans) as they would to organic content at the time of ad creation for clear and clean analytics. This benefits brand teams as you can see planned content, moderation queues, and campaign results with a unified view across promoted and organic content.

Now you can manage not only which users have access to see, analyze, and moderate ads in Social Marketing, but also who has access to create ads. Managing all of your users in one place across paid and organic reduces risk within your business.

SRT caption support

We have added SRT file support for video publishing. When the user adds the appropriate channel and uploads a video, there will be a new tab for Captions under the message box.

Inside the Captions section the available options will be based on the channel that is selected; learn more about how to publish video to Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.

Rejection Categories

Rejection Categories allow users to select from your own company-specific list of the reasons for post rejections. Administrators can configure these to be required for all approval workflows and choose the order in which the categories appear for users as well. By standardizing the reasons given, your organization can better report on Approvals bottlenecks and training opportunities for their teams.

Admins can create new categories in Social Marketing Settings > Approvals > Rejection Categories.

Calendar

IGTV support in Calendar and Analytics

IGTV content published natively is now auto-imported into the Marketing platform in order to provide a more holistic view of Instagram content and performance.

IGTV content will be visible in your calendar and analytics as long as the authenticated Instagram account is set to auto-import.

IGTV is now also a filter option within dashboard, widget, and export format filters. If your current dashboards or exports are filtered to specific formats, you’ll have to select IGTV to include it. If nothing is selected IGTV will automatically be included.

Note: Only IGTV content set to “Post a Preview” to the feed within Sharing to Instagram settings will be auto-imported. Otherwise, it only exists in the IGTV tab and Khoros can’t access it.

Vault

We have added Account Grouping and extended Apply to All functionality in Vault.

Account grouping

Vault Admins can use account grouping to streamline management of large numbers of accounts. Each group can be defined based on your organization’s needs, and one account can be part of multiple account groups.

Once you have created one or more account groups, a list will appear under Account Groups in the left side menu, where you can click on a group name to bring up a list of the accounts contained within that group, where you can edit, delete, or share access.

Learn more about Account grouping.

Expanded Apply to All functionality

Apply to All is an option that has been available in some user and account columns. With this selection the user can apply the same setting to all the applicable user/accounts. In this release we have extending this functionality to include further columns; Apply to All selections are now available for the following:

  • Account page - In the Users tab
    • Access
    • Third-party authorization
    • Facebook role
  • User page - In the Accounts tab
    • Native role
    • Access
    • Third-party authorization

The user simply selects any option in the drop-down and after that clicks Apply to All. This particular selection will be applied to all the relevant rows of users/accounts.

The Facebook Role column options are different for Facebook Ads and Facebook Pages, so based on the type of column the changes will be applicable. For example, if the user has selected the Admin role for a Facebook Ad account and clicked Apply to All it will only be applied to the rest of all Facebook Ad accounts but not to Facebook Page accounts.

Developers

Developer Documentation Portal update

Khoros Marketing's Developer Documentation has a new home! The Developer Documentation Portal for Marketing is now in the same place as our Care and Communities developer docs, Developer.Khoros.com.

This move enables us to create a clean, consistent user experience across all of our products and centrally locate our entire developer documentation library in one place. Additionally, it enables us to leverage the features and capabilities of the documentation platform we've been using with our other products.

Over the next several months, we are undertaking a coordinated effort to bring new guides, improved API documentation, and more to your developer experience. You can find more information about this move in our blog post.

New API Access Token generation process

In addition to moving the documentation to a new home, the process for updating your API Access Token has also changed. We now have a dedicated space for this directly within the Khoros Marketing UI.

For information on how to generate a new API Access Token, visit our Atlas TKB article.
