Member Experience

Moderation Bypass feature

We’re introducing three new bypass permissions to allow trusted members to post content without being

These permissions are available under Settings > Users > Roles and permissions > Moderation and are set to Deny by default.

Setting these permissions helps you streamline moderation workflows and enable trusted users to engage more freely without unnecessary restrictions.

Improved Case Portal Replies Experience

We’ve improved the Replies section in the Case Portal detailed view to simplify managing case updates.

  • The Replies section now defaults to Oldest to Newest sorting, offering a clear, chronological view of the conversation while keeping the latest reply in view for quick updates.
  • Members can switch the sorting order to Newest to Oldest based on their preference.
  • The reply viewing area has been expanded, making it easier to read through comments and add replies seamlessly.

Visual Enhancements for "Mark as Solution" Feature

The following updates aim to provide a cleaner, more intuitive user experience for members interacting with the Mark as Solution feature.

  1. Added a Solved chip to the original post, positioned at the top right.

  2. Enhanced the background and border styles for the solved comment in the thread.

  3. The MARK AS SOLUTION option and the Solved badge has enhanced visual styling.

Admin Experience

Bypass Event Invitation Flood Control Limits

We’ve introduced a new permission, Bypass Event Invitation Flood Control, that allows admins to send more invitations than the flood control limit set for the community.

This permission is available under Settings > Users > Roles and permissions > Events.

Learn more about flood control limits.

Learn more about inviting members and non-members to events.

Turn off Profile Field Updates for SSO Communities

We’ve introduced a new setting, Allow SSO members to change first and last name, for communities using Single Sign-On (SSO).

  • This setting is under Settings > System > Account & Privacy > Single Sign-On (SSO).

  • When enabled, SSO users can update their first and last names under My Preferences > Personal.
  • By default, this setting is turned off.

Additionally, admins are no longer able to edit SSO-mapped fields (email address, first name, and last name) under Manage Users. This update ensures consistency in managing SSO-integrated profile fields and helps maintain data integrity across systems.

Community offline mode

If you are performing maintenance on your community, you may want to prevent activity from taking place as you resolve issues. With offline mode, you can present a notice to visitors so they know maintenance is underway and that they cannot participate until the community comes back online.

When the community is in offline mode, members cannot:

  • read content
  • create new posts or reply to any content
  • like posts, mark posts as solutions, tag posts, or edit posts
  • reply to messages in their inbox or create new private messages
  • follow or manage existing follows
  • update their member settings

Members can still receive email notifications if content is posted by admins during the time the community is offline.

When the community is in offline mode, admins are still able to:

  • sign in to the community
  • post content
  • modify site settings
  • update the theme
  • use back-end functionality such as APIs

For information on enabling offline mode and customizing the maintenance page message, refer to Set community to offline mode.

Top Contributors widget: exclude roles

Site designers can now exclude certain roles from being displayed in the Top Contributors widget. This is helpful when your administrators or other staff create a large amount of content but you want to highlight only your other members’ contributions to the community.

On page templates, the Edit Widget panel for this widget now contains a Roles to exclude field where you can enter the roles you do not want to be included as top contributors.

Developer Experience

Updates to Branch Switcher in Dev Tools

We have added some quality-of-life updates to the Branch Switcher area of the Dev Tools page in the admin. We have limited the number of available branches to five to keep the branch switcher's drop-down menu manageable.

Using the new Developer Branch Settings tool, you can now designate specific dev branches as Available or Unavailable as needed.

Learn more about the Branch Switcher tool in Switching the Branch to Preview Changes.

Moderation Policies Updates

In this release, we have added the following policies to all the permissions: community, category, blog, group, tkb, and discussions.

  • Bypass content filter
  • Bypass spam rejection
  • Bypass flood control

See Working with Moderation Policies for more information.

You Found It. We Fixed It.

Content Interaction and Display

  • The Like button now updates instantly, changing to bold and updating the text from "Like" to "Liked" without requiring a page refresh.
  • The Likes modal for Idea comments correctly shows "n Like(s)" instead of Votes.
  • Replies now load correctly when scrolling on iPhones running iOS 15.0 or earlier, using Safari and Chrome browsers.
  • When editing a topic with a long title, the entire title now consistently appears without being cut or wrapped.
  • When error messages appear while publishing a post, the focus will automatically shift to the error message on the page, ensuring it is clearly visible.
  • The mention suggestion popover no longer appears blank when searching for a deleted user and excludes deleted users from the list.
  • The mentioned place now correctly appears in the article preview message page after saving a draft for knowledge base article  or blog posts.
  • The Edit option now correctly appears in the settings for knowledge base articles for permitted members where the Turn off comments is enabled.
  • The correct URL of the embedded image in the post is now accurately reflected in the Community Firehose events log, replacing the placeholder with the actual image reference.
  • The Table of Contents (TOC) now remains in its correct position, even when refreshed or updated.
  • When media is enabled on a widget, the preview for referenced videos now correctly displays, resolving the issue where the preview appeared blank.
  • The selected sort order is now correctly retained after deleting a reply in a discussion thread, ensuring the sorting preference remains consistent, whether it's 'Most Liked' or any other chosen order.
  • The table properties of the RTE (Cell spacing, Cell padding, Border width, Border style, Border color, and Background color) now work as expected. The values entered are properly saved, and the issue of border style properties being incorrectly placed in the Border width input field has been resolved.
  • When selected, the Show More link no longer pushes the reader to the footer on the current page.
  • When you enable Toggle text keys in the community, text keys are now displayed instead of regular text on knowledge base articles.
  • Custom fields in SSO registration forms now appear as expected.
  • Text fields now return a non-null response regardless of the presence of regional formatting in the locale field. For example: "locale": "en" vs. "locale": "en-US".
  • The Reply button from the accepted solution in the main post is now removed.

Moderation and Admin Tools

  • The ban action now works as expected, successfully banning the member. Previously, it experienced intermittent failures.
  • The event creation page now displays a more meaningful error message when Zoom integration is removed from the Admin App. The error no longer includes irrelevant details like the client and secret.
  • The options menu in both the message view and the Moderation dashboard correctly displays the Approve option, allowing posts rejected as Other to be approved or unrejected as expected.
  • Members with required permissions can now access the moderation view through 'Manage Content' for a group without encountering the "Additional privileges required" error message.
  • The filters applied in the Archive tab in the Manage Content dashboard now persist after results are loaded.
  • Deleting a post from the Archive tab in the Manage Content dashboard now keeps members on the dashboard instead of navigating to the board page.
  • When an archived message with a related URL is accessed and members sign out, they are now redirected to the related page instead of seeing the archived message empty state.
  • The Message All button in Event invites is now fixed and visible, ensuring it no longer gets cropped or hidden in the scroll area, even when the number of attendees exceeds 10.
  • Invitations are now sent successfully, even when inviting more than 50 members.
  • An intermittent issue with the moderation settings page has been fixed and the page no longer breaks.

Search and Navigation Improvements

  • When multi-auth is enabled, users navigating to the registration page will no longer be redirected to the sign-in page, even if SSO is enabled. Redirection to the sign-in page will only occur if local authentication is turned-off.
  • The matching root topics and replies now appear correctly after unchecking the Exclude replies from search results filter, without the need to reload the page.
  • The issue with session ID changes causing CSRF check failures during OIDC authentication has been addressed by removing session id from the state that is used for CSRF validation.
  • The migration script has been adjusted to correctly import redirects and ensure that the destination URL in the pre-prod environment is consistent with the Classic prod environment's behavior. The incorrect URL reference has been corrected, and the redirect should now function as expected in pre-prod, directing members to the correct forum board rather than the category landing page.
  • The close account dialogue box now remains intact after the first click, allowing the admin to proceed with closing the account without the need for a second click. The dialog box no longer closes automatically after the first selection.
  • An internal server error no longer occurs unexpectedly when members navigate the community.

Localization and Language

  • The text key for the French language now says “Français” instead of “French” as expected.
  • The Switch Member feature no longer returns an internal server error when you search for a username containing Japanese characters.
  • Text keys for English (UK) now function as expected.

Templates and Widgets

  • Duplicated Header & Footer templates can now be used with the French language in localized communities as expected.
  • The Top Contributors widget now correctly displays members sorted by Likes received for Knowledge Base articles.
  • The Most Likes and Solutions tabs under the Contributions widget on Member profile now display correctly when selected, instead of defaulting back to the Most Recent tab.
  • The Places element is now correctly hyperlinked to the target place in the Recent Content widget when placed on the Community home page. Previously, while the Places element was visible, it wasn't linked as expected. To receive the fix, you need to reconfigure the widget on homepage.
  • The See More button on the Featured Idea Statuses widget successfully loads all the idea statuses without any delays or loading errors.
  • The Top Tags widget has been optimized and now loads faster.

Notifications

  • The “your” in email notification closings has been removed to allow for more flexibility with community names. For example, “Your ABC Community Team” is now “ABC Community Team.”
  • When a member marks a solution as accepted and then that member is deleted from the community, the notification feed of the member whose solution was marked as accepted now loads properly. For example, Member A marks Member B’s solution as accepted and then Member A is deleted—Member B’s notification feed no longer fails to load in these circumstances.
  • Notification feeds no longer show extra border lines between notifications.
  • Text overrides are now respected in email notifications.
