About Aurora Abuse management

Even though we'd like to believe that everyone in our community is there for the greater good, helping people out, and offering (albeit sometimes strong) opinions, we know that there are members who are just up to no good.

For these, and for all the other rule-breakers—intentional and otherwise—you need a way to handle content that falls outside of your community guidelines and the people who post it.

To combat this abusive content, members with appropriate permissions can report any content or private messages they find inappropriate in the community. You can report any content that you find violent, harmful, misleading, or other specific reasons.

When you report content or private messages, they are sent to the Abuse tab on the Content Management dashboard.

Community content filters identify inappropriate words used in community content and take appropriate actions on the content based on how you’ve configured the filters to behave. Any posts and replies, private messages, profile information, tags, and registration flow that are flagged by the content filters are sent to the Abuse tab, where you can periodically review and take actions on reported items.

The Abuse management tab lists posts or private messages that are reported as inappropriate, and you can manage this reported content with various options available out of the box.

If you have been granted the appropriate permissions, you can access the Abuse management tab via Manage Content dashboard. By default, the Abuse tab lists the reported posts or replies:

The page lists:

  • Title: titles of posts that are reported as inappropriate
  • Author: authors of posts
  • Date Reported: the dates on which posts were reported
  • Total: the total number of times posts were reported as inappropriate. You can click the Total count of any post to view the list of members who reported the post.
  • Number of views, likes, and comments on posts

You can sort the list based on Date Reported and Total columns.

To view reported private messages, go to Filters and select Reported by as Member and Found In as Private Messages:

Use Keyword to search for a particular term used in a Private Message and Sender to search for the member who sent the message.
